It was a Chilly, 32 degrees cold day on December 2nd. I planed to document a running friend, Leigh and her boys for Christmas photos at East of Chicago pizza shop. Pizza is part of the family, a tradition. They make their own pizza as a family and some times order out. But they usually have pizza for dinner one day a week. So pizza shop was the place to document the family.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
As the family and I entered the pizza shop you are greeted with warm friendly environment that was decorated for the holidays. I had many ideas that I wanted to create in my head. But I had to pick a few and go with it. I was able to capture some professional, silly, and fun images of the family. The whole family was a blast to work with and a joy to photography. </div>

<br />
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: #666666; font-family: Old Standard TT, serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;">Before race day I already felt like I reached one goal </span></span></span><span style="color: #666666; font-family: Old Standard TT, serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;">because I raised $630 for the Sunflower Stride team, that means I reached my goal of raising $500. YAHOO! On race morning </span></span><span style="color: #666666; font-family: 'Old Standard TT', serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;">I woke up at 4 am to get ready to run my first marathon for a great charity. </span></span><span style="color: #666666; font-family: 'Old Standard TT', serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;">I did not sleep that much the night before my marathon. I was nervous and excited! The farthest I ran was 23 miles in my training. I had to trust my training and all of the hard work I have been putting in to it. since the week after Christmas</span><br />
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Old Standard TT, serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Old Standard TT, serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;">When I arrived at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Marathon ( HOF marathon) on April 27, 2014, on a Sunday morning, the sun was coming up and the wind was blowing. When I arrived at the start line I turned on my iPod duffle to my Marathon running list that starts the song "Hall of Fame ( feat. Will. I am), by the Script. I start to stretch and set my Nike watch. </span></span><span style="color: #666666; font-family: 'Old Standard TT', serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;">I was excited, nervous and had cold or bronchitis to. But I have been eating healthy and drinking alot of water. </span><span style="color: #666666; font-family: Old Standard TT, serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;">But I want to bet my goal time of 5:15:00. As I started running the race I was getting excited and in the moment and I had to tell myself slow down because I was running at a pace of 8:30 a minute. It was to fast. As a wise friend told me to start the race slow, because your heart rate will be going fast any way. I had to slow down and pace my self at the 11-12 min per mile pace, because I did not want to use all my energy and hit a wall at mile 20. So I stayed focused throughout the whole race and had a pace under 12 minute per mile pace. The marathon and half marathon runner stayed together till the split of 12 miles and all I seen around me was half marathon runners. But I felt great throughout the whole race, playing catch up with another runner named David, who I found along all of the half marathoners. David and I would run together while talking, keep on passing each other, enjoying the run. I would give spectators on the street high five and they cheer the runners on. I even gave some lady my gloves, because I was to hot and did not want to just litter on the ground but give them to someone who can use them and it was some old lady. I use a marathon pacer band to stay on pint and I had 5 minute to spare half way through the course and even had time to go to the bathroom two times. But I know I would need those 5 miles that soon became 4 miles towards the end of the race. Specters was even giving out oranges, twirlers and the HOF marathon gave out Cliff gel packs. </span></span><span style="color: #666666; font-family: 'Old Standard TT', serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;">The course was great, it was windy throughout the race and their was alot of turn in the race, but over all it was great. I </span><span style="color: #666666; font-family: Old Standard TT, serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;"> enjoyed every minute of the race and felt great afterwords. I could have pushed myself to go a little faster but I was afraid if hitting the hall and using all of my energy. I learned and really enjoyed it. I finished the marathon in 5:11:09. I started the race strong and finished strong. After receiving my metal and they gave out fleece blankets with HOF marathon on it. My Uncle Aunt and Cousin was their as I crossed the finished line. I felt unstoppable when I crossed that finish-line. I started training for the marathon on December 24, 2013. </span></span><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: #666666; font-family: Old Standard TT, serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;">I have met great friends, achieved many goals and learned a lot thought out my training for my first marathon. I want to thanks my running friend and family for making it such an incredible journey! The </span></span></span><span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: 'Old Standard TT', serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;">Sunflower Stride team raised a total of $7,441.00 in support for Prayer from Maria Children's Glioma Cancer Foundation. </span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: 'Old Standard TT', serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;"><br /></span>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: 'Old Standard TT', serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;">The marathon was on the day I started running last year. It showed me what I have achieved in first year of running (first 5k's, 10k, half marathon's and Full marathon). It was an amazing day and I am still on a runners high from that race! Haha!</span></span><br />

It was a nice sunny day on April 4, 2014. I was so exciting to photograph her and very nervous to pose her. After I cleaned her house and made dinner. I put her hair up in curls and she did her make-up. I thinker she enjoyed it and I got some really great images of her. The one I like the best is her natural smile, when she was laughing. It took some time for her to get conformable and once I put her in her normal environment she looked more relaxed. She looked amazing! But I need to practice with the flash and learn how to eliminate the shadow.<br />

So I created a St. Patricks day event on Saturday, March 20th. Everyone wear green. The sun was shinning but the wind was blowing. Everyone was excited to come to Mamaw's house. Jacob got up at 7:30a.m. and wanted to go Mamaw's when we woke up. The kids was sup-prized. I created a small goodie bag with a green neckless, little skate board, a glowing animal, wind up robot, and a small bag of mikes and ike. My Grandma came over to see the boys and have dinner and desserts with us. The dinner menu was macaroni and cheese with hot dogs on the hot dog machine. Everyone ate all of the food! That is a plus. I also made yummy dessert with a St. Patrick's Day twist. The deserts was green pouch (sprit and green sherbet), gold jello, truffle desert, rainbow vanilla cake with green food coloring, St. Patricks hats and green brookies. The green brookies was a hit and Nathan like the St. Patrick hats. Dylan liked the jello and Jacob liked the cake! I think I hit everyone's taste buds!<br />
<br />
Then to close the night after everyone got showers. We had a move night where we bust out the pop corn machine, set up the congestion stand junk food and put a movie in. Everyone enjoyed the congestion stand that Nathan was in charge of and everyone had to pay a penny for candy and two pennies for popcorn. Nathan was the one that watched all of the move. Dylan and Jacob played around. Over all everyone had a great day.<br />
<br />
Then the next day I was able to capture a photo with all of the boys eatting cinnamon rolls for breakfast! That is a must have in the am when spend the night at Mamaw's house. The party closed with snow cones creations. Everyone made their own cone and did a great job! I was so happy that I was able to document all of the boys in the same image when eating breakfast! It was one of the top images of the weekend.<br />

Today after my 15 miles run, I decide to retire my Asics Kids Gel-Excite GS running shoes that has 372 miles on them! These shoes was purchased the day before my first half marathon, because my first pair of running shoes has a whole on the side of the adidas shoes and I discovered it when getting ready for Akron Half Marathon. These shoes was used on three half marathons, one 5k and the training for my full Marathon that is in only 58 days away.These shoes have been through the rain, snow and sunny days! The dirt and mud on these shoes mean a sign of age and the journeys the I have been on. These shoe have been so great that I have not had any blisters, red spot on my feet! I think it is time to retire my $55.00 dollar pair of running shoes and replace them with a new pair that is identical to theses!<br />

<br />
One Monday, it was a cold winter day and my little nephew, Jacob, came over to spend the night. I figured it would be fun to make Brookies with him. We made this new desert I found on Pintrest and wanted to do a test run on it! It is called Brookies, because it is made out of chocolate chip cookies and brownies. Jacob enjoyed mixing the brownies mix and chocolate chip dough in the bowls. It was funny because he tried raw chocolate chip dough and did not like it. He spit the dough in the bowl, while my sister, Jessica, was going to town eating the dough out of the bowl.<br />
<br />
To make the desert you basically mix chocolate chip cookie dough in one bowl and Brownies in another bowl. Then you put both of them in a greased pan in a line. I made long strips of brownies and chocolate chip cookies. It turned out to be a really great desert. It was so great that the next evening it was gone. What I learned for next time is make the stripes of chocolate chip dough and cookies vertical, not horizontal and make the stripes smaller.<br />

Yesterday was Valentine Day! It is a day that your boyfriend, husband, or gentleman show the girl how much they appreciate them. My mom wanted to make sugar cookies for Valentine's Day and she asked me to help her. She mixed the dough and I did the rest! I really enjoyed being creative when decorating the cookies!<br />

<br />
<br />
<div>
Last Monday and Tuesday I watch some of CreativeLIVE's workshop called "<a href="http://www.creativelive.com/courses/goal-setting-your-best-year-yet-dory-willer">Goal-Setting for the best year yet with Dory Willer</a>." The workshop was about setting goals and achieving them. You should have 10 goals each year and as you achieve them you create another one. Then you break your goal down into steps and then to make a list of steps you want to achieve each month. So one day a month you create a to do list for each week so you can reach your goals and mark them off the list. Then you write you top ten goal on a piece of paper and put it in a place you will see it every morning. You read them and think about them. Then every week you evaluate what you did last week, what you learned and what you will do better next week. I must say it is hard to have only 10 goals.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
My 10 goals for 2014 are the following:</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<ol>
<li> Run 2 marathons and 2 half marathons </li>
<li>Take my Nephews to 5k run</li>
<li>Learn how to proper expose my image in camera, so I do not have to adjust a little in Lightroom</li>
<li>Learn Photoshop at a tool in photography</li>
<li>Create a portfolio with photoshoots</li>
<li>Read 3 books in February</li>
<li>Do yoga 3 times a week for a Febuary </li>
<li>Learn how to use off camera flash</li>
<li>Have an amazing Halloween Party, it will be my 5th year! Get a theme and an outline</li>
<li>Get license</li>
</ol>
</div>

Looking back at the beginning on January 8th, 2014. I was babysitting my little nephew Jacob, who was 2. He enjoy looking at photographs and was looking at a album of his brothers when they were a baby. So then I pulled out the scrapbook that I started when he was born. I wanted to record 2 years of his life in a scrapbook like I did for his two other older brother. Jacob really enjoyed looking at the pages of his life when he was a baby and pointing at people in his family. So then I got thinking that it is the right time to finish his scrapbook, that should have been done in February 2013 for his birthday. Then his birthday snuck up on me and I only had a few days to accomplish what takes 2 weeks.<br />

<br />
This week I finally finished my littlest nephews scrapbook of his second year of his life from 2012. I competed 51 pages in 4 days with the help of my sister, Jessica for his 3rd Birthday Party. I enjoyed selecting the images to put in the scrapbook, because I was able to relive the experience. While developing the pages I notice my photography has improving. But sometimes it was overwhelming because it was hard to select the best times. The reason for that was that I was emotionally attached to them. I posted this comment on my Facebook page, "I just experienced the vacation with my sister and her family to Myrtle Beach, Sc again because I just went through 2018 images in Lightroom by selecting and rejecting images from 2012. The images are for my little nephews scrapbook!" I would like to thank Jessica for gluing, sticking the photos and the embellishment on the pages as I layer them out and designed them. The book became so big that I had to create new binding for the middle. You can see the photo below the top one is before and the photo on the bottom one is the finished product.<br />

Here it is:<br />
<br />
1. OMG! I just experienced the cation with my sister and her family to Myrtle Beach, Sc again, because I went through 2018 images in Lightroom. I was selecting and rejecting images from 2012 form y little nephews scrapbook.<br />
<br />
2. I need to get running tomorrow 15 miles, because I slacked off today only ran 4 miles.<br />
<br />
3. I need to get Jacob scrapbook done for his birthday on Saturday. If I get it done it is pure magic and hard working.<br />
<br />
4. I need to make time to finish reading the running and photography book I started.<br />
<br />
That is the end of my thought for tonight! I hope everyone has a great week.Jenniferhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00636727112355815936noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-146889068512104922.post-91204010661043853062014-01-18T23:50:00.000-05:002014-01-18T23:50:06.896-05:00Running for a StrangerToday I ran in honer of a runner who I never met and never will. Meg is unable to run anymore because she is a special angel in heaven.<br />
<br />
Her story has been all over social media. Meg Cross Menzies "Meg" was a Mother and an avid runner, who was doing a morning run on Monday, January 13, 2014, when she was hit by a drunk drive. But the running community created an international day for running in her honer. In just 5 days over 90,00 people singed up to run in her on today. An event on Facebook called Meg's Miles, the hashtag in her memory is #megmiles .<br />
<br />
So tonight I run my first night run at 6:30 p.m. and 18 degrees outside! Just after I made homemade pizza for the family, I put my running gear on (wicked t-shirt,wicked zip up and my outer Columbia jacket, Underarmer tights, adidas pants, socks, my strip buffer, craft hat, black gloves and reflective gloves, and my headlamp, iPhone and earbuds). I started my Nike app and turn my music down low in Megs honor. Then laced up my shoes and turned on the headlamp to hit the sidewalk (usually hit the road). When I run I usually do not think I just relax and enjoy my run, but today was special because I was thinking about Meg and how her three kids and husband will miss her dearly. So to night I ran 3 miles, one for each of her kids. My thought are with Megs family and friends! It was a nice run, I felt the cold air on my face and I can see my breath in the air! I was thankful that I was able to run to night.<br />
<br />
I just hope Megs story helps other and saves life's!Jenniferhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00636727112355815936noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-146889068512104922.post-62093467857480777972014-01-05T23:34:00.001-05:002014-01-05T23:34:13.911-05:00New Year: Looking back and Looking forward Looking back I had a nice year... <div>-I discovered running and I ran 12 races ( 8-5k's, 1-10k and 3-13.2 miles a half marathons). I usually don't get in it, but this year I did decide to participate in the gift exchange. I received an amazing book! It is Vivian Maier's Street Photography, hard cover book! Yes! Vivian Maier story is very interesting and her images are inspiring! The page of the book is filled with raw emotion that she capture on the streets! Each photo leaves you wanting more. The photos are black and white with some pages all white, so you can just focus on the one image at a time! I think. My favorite images is of a little boy and a girl look out of a car window! I would highly recommend every photographer to check this book out! You can watch Vivan Maier's story by typing her name in the YouTube search!<br />

It was a nice run I got soaked but I did not get cold! Good thing I had on the selfless elf tee shirt, a wicked long sleeve shirt, a running tee, under arm tights and running shorts with no gloves! But my craft running hat and elf socks! The course was nice and thair was a part in the course where you had to go down a road and back up(a turn around spot) that means you pass runner at the loop and I was giving runner a high five as we passed each other to make it fun. This one tall guy put his hand up high for me to give him a high five and I jumped up and gave him a high fived him! It was funny! Thair even one guy that was running with no shoes, very interesting! The first mile <span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"> was. 8:55 , then I lost it! I started of to fast! I finished in 31:24:2, pace of 10:07. It was funny because I start put towards the front of the start lone and I see everyone around me get ready to start thair stop watch to time them self! </span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">It was a great event and thair was 800 plus selfless runners and walkers at this event! </span><div><div><br></div></div>Jenniferhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00636727112355815936noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-146889068512104922.post-34294571081100047942013-12-15T23:50:00.001-05:002013-12-15T23:50:26.649-05:00Deciding a Full MarathonI have been thinking about doing a marathon at the end of April and run for a charity to! It will be my first marathon and I have been questioning myself if I can accomplish it! I was woundering if training in the winter will I be able to get my miles in, while considering it will be my first time running in the snow! But it is a plus that I have 3 half marathons under my belt! <div><br></div><div>Well I have offically decided to train for a full marathon! I just sent the email out it is official! Wish me luck in April! </div>Jenniferhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00636727112355815936noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-146889068512104922.post-81791618363101573562013-12-09T00:00:00.001-05:002013-12-11T01:08:05.094-05:00Loom BraceletsRainbow Loom bracelets are the it toy for school age kids for a few months now! The bracelets that you make with rubber bands, s hook, weaving tool, braclet maker peg tool.<br>
<br>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 13px;">
It was a nice day outside, it was cold, but was a great day for a 5 mile run, just before the nephews came over to spend the night. As they enter the house, Jacob (7 year old) goes on a hunt for Me (Aunt Jen) and ask me to make Starburst Loom Bracklelet for him! He told me it was hard and I asked is it on Youtube? He said yes! Let me tell you I never made a Loom bracelet before and was going to make a interment bracelets for the first time. I skipped the beginning and the advances brackets! LOL! I was ready to tackle the bracelet, just follow the video, I am a visual learner, so that is a plus!</div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 13px;">
<br></div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 13px;">
I watch the video and follow the steps, doing great till it was time to take it off the peg thing, I start taking it off gently and it fell apart, my nephew was like you have to be fast, and he helped me! He picked out the color he wanted me to make them in. Well bracelet attempt 1: it did not work, it fell apart. So I was cool with it, I told Dylan, no worries, I can make another one and I will go fast when pulling it off the peg thing. Hay we learned something, no worries I will get it! Dylan was like you should have lissened to me! Attempt 2: I completed the starburst bracelet and it looks cool! I must say! My nephew so excited! He was like you are the best bracelet maker ever! He was like I am not going to trade this bracelet, I am going to keep it for ever! Dylan just made my day! So them Nathan wanted me to make him a bracket! So I made it after the his brother went to sleep. Attempt 1: did not work out, I tried quick fix and did not work. I spend like an hour on the purple color , trying to do a quick fix. Lessoned learned start over when mess up! Attempt 2: it finally worked! I attempted it the next morning after I made cinnamon rolls for the kids! O yah! I got it </div><div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 13px;"><br></div><div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 13px;">We it was a nice weekend hanging out with the nephews! They sure are a blast!</div><div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 13px;"><br></div><div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 13px;"><br></div><div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 13px;"><br></div><div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 13px;">Hope everyone had a great weekend!</div><div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 13px;"><br></div>

The day before Thanksgiving, my Grandma and Jessica made their traditional pies together. I think they made like 12 pies with the help of my Mom. I was not able to capture the moments, but I grab a photo of the pies!</div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 13px;">
Thanksgiving Day the weather was nice and cloudy at the temperature of 25 and I was able to get back to running after a few days of rest! Yes! I ran 3.12 miles before everyone came over to celebrate thanksgiving! My Grandma stayed the night to help get ready for Thanksgiving dinner. She got the turkey ready as I documented it and them my Mom cooked it! Then I rolled my Grandmas special silverware that always comes out on Thanksgiving dinner.</div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 13px;">
It was very interesting to see my littlest nephew discover hand print I have hanging on my wall. The hand prints are of my nephews. They are done each year around my birthday and them I frame and hang them! My handsome oldest nephew, Nathan allowed me to capture a great photo of him! So what happened when I washed Thanksgiving dinner dishes and don’t play with the nephews! Well, I a funny surprise awaits me! Dylan and Jacob decided to put a lot of stickers (a roll of farm sticker that had like 100, used 60 stickers) on the inside of my confider. Jacob was so proud of himself, he had to show me!</div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 13px;">
</div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 13px;">
Over all I had a great day hanging with family and eating yummy turkey!</div>

Jenniferhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00636727112355815936noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-146889068512104922.post-35874496364713362382013-11-27T00:41:00.001-05:002013-11-30T00:48:56.253-05:00Last Half Marathon of the Year!<div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px;">
On Sunday, November 24, I ran my last half marathon for the year at the Fall Classic Half Marathon in Strongsville, Ohio. I have been training for this and I was ready to beat my PR (personal record). </div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; min-height: 14px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px;">
So the night before I ate spaghetti, water for dinner and for a snack I ate some carrots and a gorilla bar. I layer out my outfit before bed. It was my new running hat, gloves, my buffer to cute the wind on my face, a purple wicket t-shit, Nike arm warmers, and a long sleeve wicket 3/4 zipper, the outside layer of my new Columbia Jacket( used as a rain Jacket to cut the wind and snow), underarmed tights, black running shorts, socks, gu (I could not find Power Gel when picking up my packet) and my bib number 231! I had a great night sleep from 11:30 p.m. to 6 o’clock. For breakfast I drank Sunny D, Apple Juice and had some Frosted Flacks and a banana. After eating I checked the weather app on iphone ( I use for an iPod) to see what the weather is going to be like at 9 am when the race starts. The weather app called for snow. I was nervous about running in the snow. But when my Uncle Jim and I arrived to the race site at the Bonnie Park Cleveland Metro parks their was not a drop of snow on the ground. We had to walk a mile from the RTA parking lot to the start line. My Uncle did great. I Just saying! </div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; min-height: 14px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px;">
The race was on a cloudy day with the temperature that was the chill 20 degree with the wind 20 mph with no snow! After stretching and going to the restroom. Then they told everyone to line up at the start line I was a little nerves, but I was ready, because the last two runs, I ran that that pace I wanted to run at this race and I did great. As I line up towards the back of the rows and start my iPod with Nike run app and put my ear buds to my ear. I hear the Alicia Keys song “ Girl on fire” It is a in powering song and it fired me up. I got my watch ready to use the stop watch mode and pushed the start as I crossed over the track pad at the start line, because my time does not start until I cross the track pad. Keeping track of my time helps me stay on target with my goal time.The course was smooth, flat and fast. At one of the water stations a gorilla even passed out ice water. Around mile 6, I was going to pass my Uncle Jim some cloths or my Gu trash. I told him, around an hours I should be at mile six. Well, I was on my A game and I was ahead of my target time. So as I come up to my Uncle Jim around mile 6, he is holding his iPhone ready to take a photo. As I snuck up on Uncle Jim at mile six, I gave my him a high five as I was running, He smiles and high fives me! I was feeling great around mile 6 and ready!</div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; min-height: 14px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px;">
It was the first time I ran in this cold of weather because I have been running in 32 degrees weathers. </div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px;">
But I have been training for this. My goal was to beat my Akron Marathon time of 2:14:45. So I used a pacer band and my old stop watch to make sure I was on pace for my goal time of 2:14:00. I stopped the watch on accident and did not notice, so I was not able to keep pace, so then I was thinking how I can work around it and figured I started at 9 a.m. and calculated in my brain where I should be at every mile the sync it with my pace band. And it worked! I rocked it! I beat my goal time and I crossed the finish line at 2:13:48 and I was 26 in my age group 30 to 34!</div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; min-height: 14px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px;">
This was the first half marathon I felt good the whole race, I mainly focused only my breathing and checked my form through out the race. I was feeling good till the last mile. Then I was thinking to myself, “Dud that is just one lap around the the block when I am training, I got this in the bag. Just keep on running!” I did! </div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; min-height: 14px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px;">
After the race volunteers passed out hot chocolate, cookies and other yummy food for the racers. I really enjoyed it and it was not that hard to run in the cold as I thought it was going to be.</div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px;">
O ya! I realized I forgot my SLR camera as we are walking to the start line of the race. That is not a good thing for me! So I had to take photos when I got home with my SLR! :( </div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; min-height: 14px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px;">
Wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy it with your friend and family, while eating yummy turkey and mash potatoes!</div>

The tempature was 45 degrees, nice weather for a long run and I decided to try out this power gel energy for this long run, because I usually use gu for my Long runns only! The power gel kind was more liquid and as thick at the gu! It worked great! I think I am going to use it on the half marathon this weekend! <div><br></div><div>Hope everyone has a great Friday! </div>Jenniferhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00636727112355815936noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-146889068512104922.post-83926774948225576122013-11-17T20:23:00.001-05:002013-11-17T20:23:08.297-05:00Running BuddyOn November 16, 2013 I was watching my little nephew Jacob who is only 2 year old. I want to see if he was up for a run, so I said Jacob you want to go for a run! He was like sure! So I ended up chasing him around the room and playing flash light tag. We had a blast! I took of my fleece and not soon after that Jacob wanted to to take of his shirt. ( good thing we was inside). It was funny because we was running, then Jacob was like I will be back going to get a drink Aunt Jenny. Then I would here his little feet run down the alway for a drink and back up to the toy room to continue running. So we ended up running for over 8 minutes and grabbed some blue Gatorade when we was done and a photo to! It was fun! Maybe next time I will get him to run down the sidewalk! Due to the shutdown the race was resceduled and the back of the shirts stated "Can't Shut A Good Run Down". The course was great and flat with some amazing views, I wish I had took my camera! The race started at 8:00 am, I got thair early and was able to stretch and use the restroom! I start the race with a goal of beating my Akron Half Marathon time. I started the first few mile ahead of my pace time. Then I decided to ditch my glove at around the 6 miles mark. I found Jessica Speece and her father to run with , then I had to pick up my pace to keep on target. When running I notice a lot of gloves and clothing along the course from runners getting hot! At mile 8 I looked at my pace band and my iPod and noticed I was few minutes behind. I was like I will never catch up! Crap! Then I was like keep on running, my new goal was to run the whole race without walking! So I payed for not running for 7 days before the race, I was so tired and really pushing myself to finish the race! I could only imagine my face when I crossed the finish like! I really pushed myself the last mile, but I tried to keep at my steady pace. I loved the trail and would love to do it again! I finished the race at 2:20:46 and ran the whole thing! It was not my best time but I will take it! Since I did not run for 7 days because a lot was going on in life, like my Mom was in the hospital. But Thair is one more half marathon this year and my goal is to beat my Akron Marathon time of 2:14:45. The theme was monster bash and it was held at my sisters house! It was on a nice fall day when the leafs was turning color and excitement was in the air! The house was decorated with scary items and the table was all set for each person. My nephew Dylan and Nathan helped me set the table! Dylan had the creative idea to place the monster rolling hand next to each plate and it really make each table setting look amazing! I must say! On the menu for the event was yummy deserts, sliders, jobs, fruit guy, pumpkin vegetable platter, creepy cheese. One the desert bar was yogurt drops, banana bits, Reese bits, ghost cake pops, franklinstin marshmallow pops, creepy shooters, strawberry mouse, rice Krispy mummy pops, rock candy, s'mores bar, homemade gornola bars, strawberry licorice, sugar cookies and muddy buddy's and apple bit with carnal. The Carmel bit set up a little! I will try to improve the apple bits next year! Everyone enjoys the deserts! The kids had a great time at the games. Some of the games was pin the eye on the monster, punch box, bean bag toss, adopt a monster and skeleton hunt, bingo, guessing game and mystery bowl! With the help of Jessica and Heidi the game went smoothly! But I was not able to get to two games the bobbing for Apple and the photo booth! The kids was able to trick or treating at six o'clock around their house<font face="Helvetica Neue Light, HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif">, will I clean up. While I was cleaning up I see my little nephew Jacob digging in one of the glass container that has the Rice Krispy mummy pops sticking in styrophom that was in the glass container with m and m to cover it. Ok back to the story! I look over as Jacob is deternand to get a m and m that was stuck between the styrophom and the glass container. He pulled the styrophom that was glued with hot glue gun out of the glass container just to get to all of the m and m's. I was a half dressed Mina, my sister was a robber and went around the house grabbing people's items and at the end of the party she gave it all back! It was funny everyone wanted to know what she snatched of theirs! She snatch Nathan iPod and DSI. He was very surprised! I was able to capture some great moment! But would have liked to get a lot more photos! Maybe next year! I want to thank my Mom, Jessica and my Aunt Paula for helping me pull this party off! Also thank you Christy and Greg for letting me host the party at your house! I thing everyone had a blast! I can not wait for next year Halloween party! I always try and top last years party! And I think it was a success! </font><div><font face="Helvetica Neue Light, HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif"><br></font></div><div><font face="Helvetica Neue Light, HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif">I hope everyone had an great Happy Halloween!</font></div>Jenniferhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00636727112355815936noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-146889068512104922.post-6859287990871427222013-10-21T00:01:00.001-04:002013-10-21T00:01:21.719-04:00New Gorge Bridge Day 2013This weekend I had a great time with my Uncle, aunt, Sister, Nephew, and another great family at the bridge day event where people from all over the world come to jump off the bridge!
